Answer: 
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and we have been advised by them of the following: while you can put multiple units next to each other, they really would not connect without making modifications to the units by cutting holes in them, which is not something the manufacturer suggests.

Answer: 
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and we have been advised by them of the following: there is not a separate locking mechanism for this unit. Once the locks are attached to the side of the box, then the unit is considered locked.
