Answer: 
Thank you for your inquiry. This lavatory system referenced, Grainger # 1MEV9 uses a thermostatic mixing valve/assembly to regulate the water temperature. A hot and cold water supply enters the mixing valve and mixes the water to a pre-determined temperature. When the IR sensor is actvated, the pre-mixed water is supplied.

Answer: 
Hot and cold water will need to be piped into the unit to provide warm water on the outlet side. Temperature adjustment can be performed inside the unit, the user will not be able to adjust temperature ranges after it is set during installation.
