No it does not, depending on what your water contains as, sediment Limestone for instance is a depisitory mineral, it does not make up the hardness number but it will build up in a water faster than say Iron. So no Hardness does not effect the warranty, you will however have to follow the manufacturers recomendation for descaling the unit.
