Rated 5 out of 5 by One tough drill As an electrician and do-it-yourselfer, I have demanded a lot of these drills, and they have stood the test of time. Our company uses these and other Bosch tools daily, and they take a beating. Overall it is lightweight and easy to handle. May 19, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Value for Money After removing concrete from a stair riser with the hammer drill: great tool, lots of power, easy to change bit, light! May 17, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Outlives the competition We've drilled over 1,000 1/2x8-12" holes in very old and very hard concrete (5,000 psi or greater) this drill has more than earned the best in class distinction. It has only bound up twice against rebar yet reverse walked it out while other's had to be drilled or chiseled out including a Bosch 35 hammer. If it gets hung up a few seconds in low speed reverse frees it up and away we go even on 5-10 hr days. The RH228 doesn't get hot yet we needed to change bits every 10-12 holes to keep drilling lest the bits wear out their flutes.Chiseling needs a bit longer stroke or to be held with just enough pressure to hammer more aggressively. The same helps the drill to penetrate hard concrete faster and eject the dust faster.8 inches of 4-5,000 psi drilling in 1 minute is awesome. Rated 5 out of 5 by Hammer Drill "Nails It!" I have been working with the Bosch RH228VC since November 2013 and havefound it to be reliable. So much so that I bought one to use at home and forany side work that may come along. My DeWalt hammer drill could not do theconcrete work that the Bosch so easily accomplished. April 21, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality and durability thats lasts I have had this tool forever drilled easily thousands of anchor holes in footings and she's still going strong.I especially like the design which allows you, (laborer) to set the pins after the first course has been laid, translating to fewer mistakes. Rated 5 out of 5 by This is one great tool!!!! I have used this to chip tile, and even drilled a 3" core, all with a minimum of effort. Even friends who have borrowed the tool have raved about it. April 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by I like the light weight design. It work really great on any type of concrete surface. The price was very reasonable. It's easies hammer drill I have ever used. The Bosch bits that I have used seem cut right through the concrete like butter. April 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by does it all This rotary hammer does it all, from drilling small holes in concrete for anchors, to 1 1/8 holes in solid concrete to run pipes through, and with the hammer only selectorthis works as a chipping hammer to chip away concrete or remove tile. April 10, 2014
