What is the proper way to install these screws in asphalt? Is there a torque setting that should be used? I have not seen a specification that includes this information.
Thank you

Answer:
You drill a 3/8" diameter starter hole, then the screw will self tap the rest of the way down.

I am looking to provide additional points of attachment for a car port shelter. The 4 corners are held down with large screw type anchors. The 8 side posts are not attached with anything to the asphalt. I am looking to prevent the wind from lifting the sides up during storms in CT.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and have been advised by them of the following:

The Technical Specifications on this item, shown on our site, state these bolts are meant to be used with traffic delineators. These bolts would not work for your intended application. Please contact 1-800-GRAINGER (472-4643) and ask to speak with our Fasteners Technical Support group. They should be able to assist you with a more suitable alternate.
