Rated 4 out of 5 by Speeds up wrapping!! I am simply a DIYer and as such I have been rebuilding/refurbishing an old home (1850 circa). So I had this wrap job coming up and after having seen a friend use a hammer tacker for wrap he had installed, there was no way I was going to be without one. Bought this one based entirely on research (reviews/costing/availability). As I had never used a hammer tacker before I learned that there was a learning curve. In another review, it was stated that it did not matter if the strike was square on or not - well I have found the same however, ONLY if tacking into standard wood and NOT so if tacking into OSB. In fact, I tacked into 7/16 inch OSB sheathing with 3/8 inch staples and there was a fair number of bent staples from not making full penetration. Yes the tacks are genuine arrow staples. In another review it was stated how the 1/2 inch staples had jammed in the slide tray while loading but once in, stapled good - what I have found is that a pack of "old" 1/2 inch staples jammed while new ones did not - compared the two both marked as 508 but yet the older ones were at least 1/16 inch longer and with a prominent chisel tip - they ones jammed up entirely, so I had to dismantle the tacker by removing the load tray in order to get the staples out. All-in-all I am entirely satisfied with this purchase, just should have been able to accommodate the old staples and maybe a bit more striking power for OSB penetration. December 11, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Roofing I used this product when building a roof for my side porch. It worked wonders and made this job go so much faster. No missed punches and no staple jams. I would buy this product again. November 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This tool is a timesaver I lined up the task of applying heavy gauge plastic in my three season porch to combat the draft I experienced last year. The wall I wanted to cover was not only large but was uneven. I wanted to get the job done quickly and easily. I purchased the ARROW HTX50 tackhammer and did the job very easily and was fun to use. THANKS ! October 19, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Easy to use Easy to use. Fast and quick! A lot easier to handle than a gun. Liked the ease of loading staples. October 15, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Easy to use. This product is so easy to use. Just load, aim and hammer. It keeps you from smashing your fingers and you can use I hand to hammer and no nails or pins to hold. It goes much faster than the regular hammer and pins and your project is finished much quicker allowing you to move on to other plans. Really works great when building rabbits hutches with the wire and such. I would recommend this product to anyone. Great for men and women alike. October 8, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Tried Stanley Bought a Bostich jammed in first 5 minutes. Took back Bostich and bought a HTX50 Arrow floor stapler and it worked great . I really like the wide base on head it doesn't leave large indents. Great product! September 16, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Best heavy duty stapler I found that the striking mechanism placed towards the out side of the head allows me to not only strike more easily on uneven surfaces but allows me to strike at an angle. Most staplers require you to strike what you are nailing too with the stapler flatter to the surface to fully sink the staple. With this stapler you can strike with a more natural swing and still achieve full sinking of the staple July 29, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by EASY Works perfectly! Light swings sink staples and keep you moving fast. Didn't jam and was easy to reload quickly. Love it. June 8, 2014

1 Person needs an answerI have this question too

Grainger has contacted the product supplier and has been advised by them of the following: The shortest staple this item is designed to use is 5/16” leg length. Use of a shorter staple may result in jamming or improper driving of the staple.
