During the recent flood my Ariston water heater was submersed in flood water and quit working. Upon inspection, I found that the heating element tested good, but the thermostat light was no longer coming on. Since I saw no other components, I assumed that the thermostat got fried. So, I ordered a new thermostat and installed it. I have power coming to the unit, but the thermostat light still won't come on and the water heater still does not work. Two questions: 1) Is there something I'm overlooking? and 2) Is there a way to test the new thermostat to make sure it is not defective?
