Rated 5 out of 5 by Solid construction I realise a small dream when I bought the Ariens Professional 28. It is solid. nice and i'm sure very good for many years.Great snow blower! December 1, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 WORTH EVERY PENNY! This thing really throws snow far! Very impressed by engine too. It runs so smooth and is easy to start. I have yet to find a snowdrift that can snuff this badboy off! November 18, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This snowblower saved us this winter. We live on a farm on Central Saskatchewan where we had above average snowfall and a much colder than normal winter. I bought the Ariens 28" Pro model with the 420cc Briggs engine to help move snow away from around the house where I couldn't push snow with the plow on a quad. This snowblower moved the white stuff so well that it was used for a lot more than I expected. There were multiple occasions during winter storms where our driveway drifted in with hard packed snow 3 feet deep for about 250 yards. Our quad wouldn't touch the drifts but once I had an initial pass through done the Ariens Pro had enough power to chew through them without slowing down. Several of my friends bought cheaper snow blowers and had problems with cold starting and plastic chutes breaking at -40. With 5w30 synthetic oil I never had a problem starting and the metal chute worked well. I feel that the extra $ I spent now on a quality machine are going to save me money and headache in the long run. I did add the tire chains after a couple of uses to help with traction on the steep icy hill in our driveway and pushing into the really hard packed drifts. I really like the steering control on this machine too. No levers to be messing with to turn it around. My only complaint might be the angle or placement of the operating light, but not a big deal if you aren't snow blowing in the pitch black. Thanks for helping make winter a lot less miserable. Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product Excellent results Purchased the Pro Snow Blower to take care of 4 rental Properties, and boy did I work it this last winter. Ran like a champ no matter what. worst was wet heavy snow that froze in below zero cold that followed the snow. Enough power to chew up the chunks and ability to throw it far far away.I only replaced two shear pins and that was from an employee hitting the corners on cement steps, and those were easy to replace. started on first pull every time. Best purchase I've made in a long time.. April 25, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by This machine is great for the north east winters This machine was great for such a bad winter here in the North East MASS. great proformance, quick starting, a beast in deep heavy snow, nothing could stop it. April 24, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Product - Ready, set, blow! Purchased this unit in the fall of 2013 just in time for a good old fashioned Canadian winter, Polar Vortexes and all. Machine performed admirably.Only one slight issue and it is regarding the headlight. Being on the tall side at 6'2" the headlight would shine up in my eyes obscuring my visibility. I fashioned and attached a visor to project out beyond the headlight which shaded the light from my face. After that it was steady going all winter long. Logged more hours than I care to remember. I would definitely recommend this unit. April 23, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My 2013 Pro 28 performed like a Champ this winter! I finally retired my Ariens S-824 after more than 20 years of rock-steady service (tuned it up and gave it to my nephew where it still runs like a fresh machine). Bought my Pro-28 in October 2013, just in time for the worst winter we've had in Winnipeg, Manitoba since 1898: Kick-you-in-the-teeth cold and snow-falls way above normal. The Pro-28 didn't bat an eye - it did everything I asked of it and looked around for more. If it had the hand-crank chute control my 824 did, it would be absolutely perfect! But, maybe I'm too old for that much change. Don't like smart phones either. April 22, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great blower with a single tweak! I have had several Ariens blowers over the years and they are all great. Bought a pro 28 for my dad to replace his older Ariens and he loved the new one except for the "Darn Chute'. Once winter sets in and it gets cold the chute just refuses to work from the operators position. You need to leave from behind the handle bars and give it a push in the direction you want it to go. very inconvient if you ask me! The handle bar warmers are nice but the headlight is near useless except when you are by the road at night, oncoming cars can see you a little better! I was told to have the dealer adjust the chute but we never able to bring it back during the winter season, maybe this summer! April 17, 2014
