Rated 5 out of 5 by Amprobe IR-720 IR Thermometer Amprobe IR-720 IR ThermometerIn the HVAC industry a good inferred thermometer is a must in your tool pouch. I have worked in the HVAC / Electrical trade for almost 30 years, as a Field Technician, Foreman, and Service Manager. All of my field meters get used & tested by myself and my field service mechanics every day.The IR Thermometer fits well in my hand and the tests, I did with a couple other brands, found this thermometer to be the most easy to set up and use. The lighted display is bright and lights up the entire display. The trigger will allow you to scan temperatures and will allow you to hold or average your temperature readings. The temperature response time was very fast and the laser pointer can be turned on and off as needed. I have used this IR thermometer for measuring bearing temperatures for potential motor failures and retro commissioning jobs. This thermometer has been a great troubleshooting tool when working with building engineers and temperature problematic areas.Cons:I have not found there to be any cons to this tool, it works just as advertised on the Amprobe website (www.amprobe.com) and in their HVAC products catalog.I have recommend this IR thermometer to my employees and other HVAC trade professionals.
