Answer:
Item 4AD98 is an Organic Vapor/Acid Gas chemical cartridge used with 3M 6000/7000 Half and Full Face Respirators. Per the 3M Guide, depending on the air concentration level, an Organic Vapor chemical cartridge with an N95 particulate cartridge is indicated for use with Toluene (2,4 or 2,6-diisocyanate). 3M has a Cartridge Service Life Calculator on its website to determine how long a cartridge can be used for.

Answer:
Hydrochloric acid protection would include using an Acid Gas cartridge. If there is no need for the Organic Vapor portion of the cartridge, then using the 6002 (3AG78) cartridge will last longer as the entire cartridge would protect against the Hydrochloric acid.

Answers

Answer:
BTEX is an acronym for benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene. The list of chemicals that could potentially be found in BTEX exhaust exposures are not limited to the chemicals listed here.
The question asks if a chemical cartridge 3M 6003 OV/AG can be used for protection from BTEX exhaust when working near Glycol Regenerations. Due to unknown concentrations of these chemicals and additional factors not mentioned in this inquiry, Grainger cannot answer the question about whether this 3M chemical cartridge and 1/2 mask respirator would be adequate protection.
In cases such as this, contacting 3M directly would be advised before respiratory protection is selected.
