Grainger TripleGuard Repair & Replacement Coverage Details

 

Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage is offered on products that are mechanical or electrical, and which may have a tendency to fail on fairly regular intervals. The type of coverage (repair or replacement) is determined by the current Grainger catalog/list price of the item being purchased:

  • Replacement Plan — for eligible products listing less than $500. Get one-time product replacement for failed covered products-no repair service necessary. Your replacement product comes from Grainger with an additional full one-year Grainger warranty. Coverage can be added to the replacement product at the current catalog/list price. Current Grainger coverage prices will apply. If placing order by phone, ask your Grainger representative to add the coverage to your order.
  • Repair Plan — for eligible products listing at $500 or more. Receive 100% coverage on parts and labor for mechanical and electrical failures. If your covered product cannot be repaired, it may be replaced at no additional charge with a product of equal or similar features and functionality. Any product replacement fulfills your coverage obligation.

After you order your Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage, you will receive your coverage documents by mail in about 30 days. There is no registration required. If your covered product fails, simply call 1-800-811-1747 anytime (24/7). Simply provide your Grainger account number and our customer service representative will arrange for service or replacement of your covered product.* Coverage is not available outside the U.S.

A: A manufacturer’s warranty typically only covers defects in materials and workmanship for specific component parts. In contrast, Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage protects against any failures, including those due to manufacturer defect, power surge, or even normal wear and tear.

Q: How long are products covered under a manufacturer’s parts and labor warranty?

A: Your product comes with an automatic one-year, standard limited Grainger Warranty. Please contact your Grainger representative for coverage details specific to your product. Additionally, the Operating Instructions and Parts Manual (OIPM) describes the manufacturer’s limited warranty for your specific product and the manufacturer’s warranty beyond the Grainger warranty.

Q: Is there a time limit on purchasing?

A: Customers have up to 11 months after their original product purchase to buy Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage.

Q: Why would I purchase Repair & Replacement coverage on my high-wear products like motors and pumps?

A: Unlike insurance, which covers chance events that are unlikely to occur, like fire, lightening and floods, or manufacturer warranties, which are issued by manufacturers to cover manufacturer defects, Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage is an extended service plan which is designed to protect against product failure for products that fail on fairly regular intervals, like those used in commercial and industrial applications. When you invest in Grainger coverage, you can help avoid repair and replacement costs, as well as associated expenses such as down-time and administrative costs of cutting PO’s, and more.

Q: Are all Grainger products eligible for the coverage?

A: Products with mechanical and/or electrical components are eligible for Grainger coverage. When you are ordering products online, look for the Grainger checkbox on the Item Details page, order form, checkout or Order History page. When ordering by phone, ask your Grainger representative if the product is eligible for coverage.

Q: Will my covered product be repaired or replaced?

A: If your covered item has a Grainger catalog/list price under $500, you will receive a replacement product upon qualified product failure. If your covered item is $500 or more, you will receive repair service upon qualified product failure. See our brochure with full Terms and Conditions (PDF).

Q: If I am eligible to receive a replacement product, where and when will I receive it?

A: Your product replacement can be picked up at any Grainger branch nationwide. Same-day pick up or next-day delivery may be available upon request for in-stock items for claims made prior to 2:00PM (CT). We can also ship the replacement product directly to you.

Q: Once my covered product is replaced, what coverage does my replacement product have?

A: No. Any product replacement fulfills your Grainger coverage. However, the replacement product you receive is covered by the standard, one-year Grainger warranty. Grainger coverage can be added to the replacement product for additional protection beyond the standard Grainger warranty period. Current Grainger prices will apply.

Q: If I am eligible to receive repair service, where will my product be repaired?

A: The repair service will be scheduled at a conveniently located authorized service center. When necessary, a service center may require that the product be shipped to their location. In this case, the postage cost will be pre-paid. If a product is very large or immovable, a service technician may be scheduled to conduct on-site repairs. Repair times may vary by product and location. Average service times are 5-7 days.

Q: How many times can a product be repaired?

A: Covered products will be repaired as needed. If a product cannot be repaired, it may be replaced at no additional charge with a product of equal or similar features and functionality. Any product replacement fulfills your Grainger coverage. However, the replacement product you receive is covered by the standard one-year Grainger warranty. Grainger coverage can be added to the replacement product for additional protection beyond the standard Grainger warranty period. Current Grainger prices will apply.

A: The cost of Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage is typically less than an average repair. The price of Grainger coverage is based on the Grainger catalog/list price of the item you are purchasing. For example, if you are purchasing a drill that is listed at $189.00 in the catalog, your coverage price will be $35.95 for the Replacement Plan.

Q: How do I get coverage?

A: When placing orders on Grainger.com®, it’s easy to add Grainger TripleGuard repair & replacement coverage. If a product is eligible for coverage, you will see a checkbox on the Item Details page and Order Form - see examples below. You can also add coverage on the Checkout page.
When you add the Grainger coverage to your order, the number of coverage plans will match the quantity of the corresponding product. You can then edit the number of plans on your order form.
Grainger coverage cannot be added to your personal list. However, when you add a personal list to your order form, you may then add coverage on eligible products.
