Spacers and Standoffs

Position materials and components where you need them with plastic spacers and standoffs from Grainger. Also available in metals, they come in several cross sections and in assortments or single-type packs. Guarantee smooth, untangled cables in-between and around panels with a round nylon spacer. Reduce component contact, elevate stacked sections and ensure enough room for heat to dissipate with hex plastic standoffs. Mate cables securely with a jack screw. Grainger helps you keep wires and components organized with the spacers and standoffs you are looking for.

type of anchor?

I have a hollow tube with a stripped anchor on the front of my Ranch Hand type of truck grill guard. The current anchor is fastened to the brace with a 5/16" bolt. What type of expansion or other anchor could be used to replace this fastener? The grill guard is probably 2 1/2" in diameter.

Any thoughts or recommendation?

Answer:
Unfortunately, there are not enough details to obtain a clear picture of this specific problem. Based on information provided, it may be possible to use a form of thread insert designed to accept the 5/16” bolt….we would need to verify if this is a 5/16-18 (UNC) or 5/16-24 (UNF) thread. There are many versions of insert, from a heli-coil, to a rivet-nut, to a well nut. For your consideration, part number 3ZLV7 is an example, of a well nut, and is the easiest to install. Please call 1-800-323-0620 if you would like to pursue this.

Answer:
Grainger does not currently offer any metric hex stand-offs. Please consider a metric coupling nut; part number 1JE25. This is an M6 X 1.00 thread, at 38mm long. This will be a hex, with a measurement of 11mm flat to flat.

I am afraid that we do not have that item in our system at this time. It sounds like a special and you may be best directed to a local machine shop.
