Answer:
Unfortunately, we do not offer this type of machine screw. It may be possible to obtain these by placing a special order thru a Grainger branch. We would request pricing and availability, and then provide that information to you before an actual order is placed.

Nails in existing rocklath covered with plaster ceiling in my house are starting to dislodge from ceiling joists.

I would like to reattach the rocklath/plaster to the ceiling joists with screws.

What type are available, and do they need to be countersunk with a special drill bit?

Answer:
We have quite a variety of screws. Although I am not sure of the length of the screw you need. I suggest that you look at our item number 5JTZ0. If this is not exactly what you need, please give Grainger's Technical Product Support Team a call so we can find the exact screw for you. If this screw can not embed into the material, you will need to pre-drill to allow the screw to be recessed. 800 472 4643

Answer:
Typically referred to as a hanger-bolt; Grainger currently does not currently that size. Grainger part number 9YT11 is a 5/16-18 machine thread at 1-1/8” length, with a 3” length wood (lag) thread, at a total of 5” length.

Answer:
An 8-18 thread is usually a self threading type not requiring a tap. That may be a special fastener for that specific application. We would not have that screw in our system at this time.
