Answer:
I have purchased numerous pressure switches for compressor application from Grainger. I you are unable to find what you need a local plumbing supply might be able to provide you with a switch intended for use on a water well system. Check to see maximum allowable settings are what are needed for your application. Pneumatic attachment size (i.e. 1/4" vs 3/8" ) is not important. Switch may be adapted by use of brass or iron bushings or reducing couplings and mounted any where in the system. Good luck

Answer:
:Your exhaust pressure would have to exceed the pressure in the receiver, otherwise the receiver would backfeed into your system. Usually exhaust pressures do not match receiver pressures.

Answer:
I've purchased 3 or 4 different stationary air compressors in the past 12 months. None of them shipped with oil inside the air compressor or came with oil to add to the compressor once you set it up. Each manufacturer had large warning tags that said there was no oil and each gave specific instructions on what oil to buy. I'm sure they don't ship with oil to avoid a mess and I suspect if they send the oil with the compressor it would change the status of how it can be shipped (hazardous with oil included in the package?). I think all asked for a non detergent lightweight air compressor oil. Our local hardware store has exactly that. Two choices on the shelves. Detergent and non detergent. Don't use oil with detergent...big mistake...it will foam up and allow oil past the piston rings and contaminate your tank/hoses. Also makes a big stink as the oil compresses in the head of the compressor.

I own a Black Max air compressor and need to locate a pressure control switch for it. It is a 240v system and believe it is a 20 amp switch. There is a number on the switch "034-0092" and it shows a cut in at 140 psi and a cut out at 175. Can I get one through Grainger?

Hello Jim,
A typical Compressor switch used on this unit would be a Grainger part number 1V624, it has an auto/off switch and is a 1/4 NPT port to connect to the system. I hope this answers your question, thanks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!
