I work in a auto body shop here in Berkeley, California. There is a problem with water and oil getting into the spray guns, when painting a car or truck. filtering air is a problem, I can do better. My design, Is to locate a high pressure radiator, capable of handling around three hundred lbs of air pressure. my plan is to locate a radiator, commonly used to cool oil, it is four feet long, two feet high and around two or three inches wide. The intake receiver will be one and a half inches in inside diameter, common plumbing galvanized pipe found at home depot. Instead of running oil, I intend to run dry air through all of the vanes in the radiator, possibly ten or fifteen rows inside of the radiator, with petcocks at the bottom to release any water or oil build up. On the exhausting side at the top, going out to the spray booth, Place another water, oil, separator, the air goes to the spray booth.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and have been advised by them of the following:

I would suggest a spill pad for this type of application. You could use a "Oil-Only" pad which would be for petroleum based products only or a "Universal" pad. The thing to keep in mind is that universal pads will also pick up water, Oil Only pads will not. If you only want to pick up the oil, you would need to use Oil Only. You can search by "Oil Only" or "Universal" spill pads on our site as we have several options for both.

Answer:
I would recommend the Rustoleum 9800 series Urethane mastic. It will cover old paint well if everything is cleaned properly. In CA the tanks don't have to be white. I like the Dunes Tan if it's still available. It dries glossy, but dust and weather will take care of that. In a garden setting, you'll find that it will almost disappear. Use a 3"or 4" std diameter roller. Mix 1/2 the paint with 1/2 the activator and put it on thick. It's a catalytic curing reaction, so it will get very hard as it cures. Do a good job and you'll never have to paint it again. I'd clean with Simple Green and Scotchbrite first and let it dry well. I painted a 2000 gallon diesel tank and it's containment tub with this exact paint. When I got the tank it was painted with aluminum colored paint. After I was done it only looked about half as big as it did in silver.
