Hose Clamps

When you work in pneumatics, needing a variety of hose clamps goes with the territory. Granger carries hundreds of them, and the clamping tools that go with them, to make sure you're never at a loss for what you need. Pick a band clamp made of construction-galvanized or stainless steel, most double-wrapped for firm and easy locking. A double ear clamp from Grainger provides secure clamping with a tamper-proof seal. You can also find a single or double bolt clamp made for either steam or water hoses.

On occasion the hose clamps let go and hot water sprays all over the operator. Is there a reliable clamp that you recommend--or another way to attach a nozzle to a hose that won't come loose? Thanks!

Answer:
Hose clamps will have a tendency to let go after a period of being pulled on. Depending on the hose you are using, you may be able to use a fitting which crimps onto the hose, such as a pex fitting or a Sharkbite fitting. Please contact us at 1-800-GRAINGER to discuss what options we have for the hose type you are using.

Answer:
This may be a good application of a "constant tension" type of clamp. They are selling a constant tension band clamp but I would prefer the springy type that need specialty pliers. The tension stays the same as things expand and contract, the clamp moves with it basically. I'm looking for the springy type right now, I've ordered them here before but I'm not seeing them. I need a different size than the bag I already bought here. They seem to be hard to find. I think they are much better clamps as long as you use correct tools. They are easy to mess up and unreliable otherwise. Might be best to just go with the constant-tension band clamp with uses no special tools. I hate that I need to buy a whole bag though.
