Answer:
O.S.H.A. does not rate or endorse any hearing protection. They create rules and guidelines for employers that have employees working in loud environments. Anything over 85 decibels for 8 hours requires the employer offer employees a choice of at least two forms of hearing protection. Allowable exposure time decreases as noise levels increase.

Answer:
Thank you for your inquiry. The SensGard SG-26 and SG-31 protects against damaging noise from the gun shot while allowing speech communication to be heard. This university patented technology directs harmful noise away from the ear while allowing conversations to be heard. Think noise cancellation without bulk, batteries or electronics. As an added benefit, the design of the SensGard devices does not interfere with the gun stock.

Answer:
Grainger has contacted the product supplier and have been advised by them of the following:

There is no hearing protection designed specifically forklift operators. You would need to do a noise assessment at your facility to determine what level of hearing protection you need. Hearing protection is measured by a plug or earfmuff's NRR rating. The higher the number, the more protection offered. But again, there is nothing specific for forklift operators.

Answer:
Yes, Grainger does offer arc-rated hearing protection for electricians. Grainger product number 1VKA1 - 3M™ E-A-R™ ARC Plug™ Earplugs.

These earplugs feature a Hear-Through™ design which allows workers to hear conversations, signals, or other critical sounds clearly, while helping protect against impulse noise from an arc flash. If an arc flash occurs, the calibrated noise filter activates immediately to suppress the noise to a safer level reducing the chance of hearing damage.

These plugs are double-ended. Should protection against extended exposure to continuous hazardous noises be needed, workers insert the plug's red end.
