Engine Driven Pumps

Grainger carries an engine driven pump in several varieties including mounted pumps and portable steel-frame pumps. Move slurries or more viscous liquids found in agricultural applications by using a membrane pump, including a portable diaphragm pump encased in steel rollbar frames. For firefighting applications, look to a gas- or diesel-powered, engine-driven fire pump to create high-pressure water streams. For pumping in more isolated areas, select a trash pump that can handle water containing stones, sticks and other solids.

Would be pumping from a 250 gal tank with no more than a few feet of lift required. Could this be hooked up with maybe a pressure relief valve returning overflow to storage tank? Probable usage would be around 200gph max to 0gph when switching zones.

Answer:
Hello,
The 6DLY8 is a bit too big, I would look at the 6DLY7 and just have a small Ball valve to recurulate some of the flow back to the tank. This should give you enough pressure and as long as you have water running thru the pump it should not damage it..

I hope this answers your question, thnaks for using Grainger Ask & Answer!

We have to take our normal booster pump system that supplies a very small distribution system off line to change out a valve. We want to use a Granger 7AJ22 pump to draft from our 2.06 MG potable water Tank/Reservoir to back charge into the system just to keep the pressure above 20 psi. The system will be on controlled water rationing with very little if any demand, can your pump be used in this application?

At this time Grainger does not carry pumps which operate on kerosene. If you can use a pump which operates off gasoline or diesel, please contact us at 1-800-GRAINGER, as we will need to know if the pump you require is for clear water, trash, or a semi-trash application.

Answer:
At this time we do not carry a diesel driven pump certified for firefighting. If you do not need that certification, you may want to look at item 1ZTA9. Please note, it has not been tested for fire hose use, and the manufacturer does not certify that is disperses a 20’ stream.
