Drum and Barrel Pumps

Drum and barrel pumps include siphon pump, rotary pump, hand pump and piston pump models. All can be helpful in handling lightweight oils and soap solutions typically used in automotive and cleaning applications. A barrel pump can add speed, convenience and control to dispensing low-viscosity fluids, while an air drum pump uses compressed air for helping dispense heavier-weight liquids. Barrel accessories, like a barrel liner, barrel adapter or barrel seal, help minimize slippery spills from leakage and keep workers safe around drum and barrel pump stations.

Answer:
Jerry,
You have a situation that would require you to use a "shop Vac", unfortuantely once you drain out the tower the remains can be scooped and vacuumed. There is not a pump other than a "Mud Pump" that will pick up solids.

55gal barrel pumps

I am looking for either a hand pump or simply a diptube that is compatibale with a blue 55gal barrel. I am looking to purchase 2, one for concentrated acid and another for concentrated caustic. If possible, I would like for these to seal on top of the barrel to minimize exposure. I reviewed item# 4HA27 as a possible hand pump/dip tube. I can supply a picture if necessary. Thank you.

Best Regards,
Greg Boyd

Answer:
Hello,
I am sorry but in order to answer your question we would need to know the exact name of the Acid and Caustic, also the percentage of the concentration. This will allow us to effectively select a pump that will fit your needs. If you can get that information we can help you select a pump that will work. thank you for choosing Grainger Ask & Answer.

We have 55 gallon drums of industrial grade solvents (such as Acetone, Methyl Ethyl Ketone). I want an electric pump to pump these liquids into 1 gallon and 1 liter bottles. The second part of the equation is I plan on putting a three way splitter on the end of the dispensing hose(so I can fill three bottles at a time). I need the liquid being dispensed from each of the three ends to be equal. Therefore, the 1 gallon and 1 liter bottles will be filled at the same rate. Once the three bottles are filled they will be manually removed and three new bottles will be manually replaced to be filled. Therefore, there must be a valve on button of some sort to stop the flow liquid relatively quickly.

Answer:
Hello,
I am sorry but we are not able to "engineer" anything like this, you will need to conatct a specialast in Chemical Dispensing. our only drump pump would be a single point delivery. It also sound like you would need multple pumps that are explosion proof, these would need to be carfull specified to prevent explosion of the vapors.
