Answer:
Hello,
I don't know which unit you have, installation can be part of the problem. Depending on the size noise can resonate if the unit is set on a hollow or sound resinating material. other things like a failed check valve or a stuck float where the unit continouisly cycles, will cause it to become noisy.
A 3P732 is a good unit to look at, but again your installation can make it noisy. if there is anything else we can do for you please call us.

One of the holes on the top has no cap. When the pump shuts off I can feel a lot of water is left in the bottom of the pump through the opening that has no cap. Should the reservoir be empty after each time the pump goes on & off? Should there be a cap on this opening? Thank you!!!!!

Answer:
Unfortunately Gemtech is not a brand we carry so I will be unable to tell you if a part is missing or not. If the unit is a condensate pump with a reservoir there will more than likely be some water left in the reservoir after each cycle. If there is a substantial amount of water after each cycle, you may want to make sure the discharge check valve is sealing properly and is not allowing any fluid to pass back into the unit after the discharge cycle is complete. All pumps do make noise, so some operational noise would be normal. If your noise is excessive, double check the way the system is installed, is it possible the unit is vibrating and needs to be secured?
