Answer:
At this time we do not carry an air driven centrifugal pump to fit that need. If you can use an air operated diaphragm pump, you may like item 5GUV1 which has a flow rate of 260 GPM.

Answers

Answer:
Yes. It will put an inordinate amount of stress on the motor, which will cause it to burn up prematurely. To control the flow properly, connect the pump motor to a VFD.

To properly size a centrifugal pump we will need you to supply us with the following information:
1) What flow rate will you need the pump to produce?
2) What pressure will you need the pump to produce, or at what head in feet will you need the pump to perform at?
3) Will the pump need to be self-priming or flooded suction?
4) Are there any operational characteristics you require from the pump (materials of construction, hazardous location)?
Feel free to contact us at 1-800-GRAINGER with the above information and we will be happy to assist you with an item selection.

My name is Sara Lafuerza and I work as a post-doc at the European Synchrotron (ESRF) in Grenoble. I am working with magnetic nanoparticles in solution and we need a system to pump the solution and produce a continuous flow free of pulses and/or bubbles. So far we were using a magnetically coupled pump but we should avoid this type of pump since the nanoparticles are magnetic and get stuck in the magnetic field of the pump. Therefore, I would like to get information/quotation on a suitable centrifugal non-magnetic pump system for these ferrofluids. Here I list our requirements:

- Tubing and pump should be ok for the following solvents in 10 mM concentration: tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAOH), HCl, tannic acid and H2O2

- We usually work with a volume of solution of about 50 ml

- Our speed working conditions is about 300 ml/minute

- It is very important that we have a continuous flow

Thank you very much in advance.

1 answer

what kind of pump

I have 2 200 gallon tanks and would like to hook up a punp that would go on and off by itself and give me 30-50 psi from a 75-100 foot garden hose. I will have a generator to power the pump. I need to know if I need a pressure switch, pressure tank and/or a check valve. Please advise. Thank you.

You may like pump number 3YU60 for that application. You will also need a pressure switch such as item 2FH02, and expansion tank 16X847.
