My spa is leaking water where the concrete water fall meets the gunite. The concrete reaches below the water line at approximately 6 inches at its maximum depth. I need a good below the waterline waterproof caulk to seal off the leak. We are talking about 7 to 8 linear feet that I need to caulk. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer:
One possibility would be use of our 1LYG5/10L517 which is designed to expand during curing to lock the internal crack surfaces together. After it is cured, an epoxy paint would give the repair added longevity.

I've seen fillabel tubes on various other sites. Do you know if refillable tubes are even made? I am looking to order a cordless caulking gun and use the fillable cartridges to apply a thick lubricant. I contacted the manufacturer of the lubricant and they do not sell it in this style of container.

Answer:
1
Use the putty knife to try to pry loose any of the caulk. If you can, remove as much as possible before continuing to the next steps. Because vinyl can be easily damaged, use gentle strokes with the putty knife to avoid gouging the vinyl.

2
Apply caulk remover directly to the caulk, covering it completely. Remember to wear protective gloves so you don't get this on your hands.

3
Let the chemical penetrate the caulk. This process usually takes several hours, but you can check it every half an hour.

4
Slide a putty knife beneath the caulk to see if it has softened. If so, work the putty knife further beneath the caulk, lifting it off the vinyl siding.

5
Apply more caulk remover on any remaining caulk, if there is still a lot left. Otherwise, scrape the caulk off with the putty knife.

6
Dip a sponge or cloth towel in warm water. Rinse any leftover caulk and caulk remover from the vinyl.
