Use thread repair inserts to fix a stripped bolt or screw thread or to install a strong, permanent threaded hole in metals, composites, wood or other materials. Helical inserts have a wired coil design. When inserted into a tapped hole with an installation tool, the coil expands to anchor the insert in place. In addition to thread repair, an insert can be used to convert a standard threaded hole to accept metric fasteners, or vice versa.
