Now you have access to real-time ship and local branch pickup availability information! You will know, well before checkout, when you can get the products you need to help you get the job done.

Q: What is Real Time Product Availability (RTA)?

A: Real Time Product Availability (RTA) provides you with an estimated ship arrival time for an item (based on UPS ground shipping) as well pickup availability from one of our branch locations.

Q: Where on Grainger.com can I check product availability for an item?

A: You can check real-time product ship and pickup availability throughout your shopping and ordering process. Just click the “When Can I Get It?” link when you see it on pages such as:

  • Product Search Results
  • Product Detail Pages
  • Shopping Cart
  • Checkout

Q: Why did Grainger add Real Time Product Availability?

A: We heard your feedback that product availability information is critical to help you make a purchasing decision. Now you have a solution that allows you to quickly and easily find out if an item is in stock and when you can get it.

Q: How can I check if an item available at my local branch?

A: To check if a product is available at a branch in your zip code, click on the When can I get it? link from Search Results, or on the Product page, look for the When can I get it? Entry box and type in your item Qty and Zip code to obtain Pick Up and Ship availability information for that item.

Q: Does checking item availability reserve stock before an order is placed?

A: No, product inventory is not reserved until an order is submitted during checkout.

Q: Will I be able to check real-time availability for items that ship directly from manufacturers?

A: Not at this time. We’re working to bring you this capability soon.

Q: Will I be able to see estimated arrival dates if an item is on backorder?

A: You’ll see estimated arrival dates for the quantities of an item that are in stock. However if the entire quantity is unavailable you won’t see an estimated arrival date. This way you can choose to order the temporarily unavailable product, select a different product or contact us for help locating exactly what you need.

Q: Will I have to be signed in to view ship and pickup availability information?

A: This information is accessible to you without the need to sign in. But to unlock the full potential of the NEW Grainger.com you’ll want to sign in and take advantage of all the great features (like RTA) that make your job easier.
