Exit Lighting and Marking

According to EHS Today, most commercial buildings meet current safety codes for exit and emergency lighting, but that doesn’t make them safe. According to one industry expert, existing codes do not begin to reflect state-of-the-art lighting and marking in building safety. Grainger has what you need to ensure a safe escape from your facility should an emergency occur.

Fire Extinguishers, Fire Detection and Alarms

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries Charts, 1992-2007, fires and explosions accounted for 3% of workplace fatalities in 2007. Employers should train workers about fire hazards in the workplace and about what to do in a fire emergency. Grainger can help you with training, prevent fires and get occupants out safely.

Medical Response and First Aid

According to EHS Today, the use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) is becoming more common as part of workplace medical and first aid programs—and for good reason. About 400 deaths from sudden cardiac arrest are reported to OSHA annually. Administered within 3 minutes, the electric shock of an AED restores the normal rhythm to the victim's heart and can increase survival rates from less than 5 percent to nearly 75 percent, according to OSHA. Grainger can help you save lives and treat injuries effectively.
