HID (High Intensity Discharge) Ballasts Core and coil are the most common of the HID ballast. They are sold as a kit. This ballast will include the core, capacitor, mounting bracket, and an ignitor where applicable. Core and coil kits are installed inside the ballast housing of an HID fixture. > Search for HID Ballasts Electronic Fluorescent Ballasts Use solid state components to increase energy, efficiency; therefore you will use less energy and maintain the same light level, no ballast hum, no lamp flicker and cooler operation. > Search for Electronic Fluorescent Ballasts Electromagnetic Fluorescent Ballasts Use a core and coil design and are used in all preheat and most rapid and instant start appliances.
