Grainger Sponsors the Red Cross of Greater Chicago's "Ready When The Time Comes" CD-ROM for nationwide chapter distribution

Grainger is the sole sponsor of the Chicago Chapter of the American Red Cross' "Ready When the Time Comes" CD-ROM. This unique program is designed to promote corporate volunteer disaster relief training and deployment nationwide. Educational materials, like the CD-ROM and its companion web site, will help other Red Cross chapters across the United States support their communities. The program engages businesses in forming a corps of volunteers that is ready to respond should a disaster strike.

Every day, Grainger helps customers deal with emergencies. When a sump pump fails or when a plant's air-conditioning breaks down, customers count on Grainger for the right products to get their facilities back up and running. We are excited to be a part of this program through the Red Cross' Chicago Chapter and to help our neighbors respond to emergencies.

Grainger is a partner in the Chicago Chapter's "Ready When the Time Comes" program and has provided volunteers for the last two years. Our volunteers have helped Chicago communities affected by flooding and assisted stranded passengers at O'Hare and Midway airports following September 11th. Our sponsorship of a CD-ROM about the program will spread the word to businesses across the nation.
