Training and Development
All employees are encouraged to take advantage of the training and development classes Grainger offers. Since 2001, almost 2,300 managers, directors, and vice-presidents completed facilitator-led training.

Our achievements specific to diversity training are:

  • All leaders and managers participated in Diversity Training
  • Online diversity course developed and launched for individual contributors. Since 2006, more than 5,000 employees have participated
  • Launched Diversity Training in the branch network

Benefits
In addition to extremely competitive health benefits and profit sharing, Grainger also offers domestic partner benefits to eligible employees.

We help our employees in different ways – for example, we sponsor a free bus shuttle service for employees at our headquarters in Lake Forest, Illinois, to help with their commute.

Domestic Partner Benefits
As our workforce becomes more diverse, it is important that we adjust our programs and policies to continue to hire and retain the most qualified individuals in our industry. In support of this business objective, the company will offer the following benefits to eligible domestic partners:

Eligible Domestic Partners
A domestic partner is a person of the same or opposite sex who meets the following criteria:

  • Is an unmarried adult over the age of 18;
  • Is neither legally married nor a domestic partner to
    anyone else; and
  • The relationship is legally registered in a jurisdiction that recognizes domestic partner relationships.

Participants must also meet the eligibility requirements of each
benefit plan.
