Heavy-duty limit switches and interlock switches from Grainger are designed to protect people and equipment from malfunctioning machinery. A typical limit switch, rotary switch, or magnetic switch automatically monitors the travel limits of a particular device and can activate or deactivate power to machinery when travel limits have been exceeded. A key switch operates in the same way as a limit switch, but it requires that a key be inserted for the interlock switch to be activated.
