Anchors

Anchors are available from Grainger to fasten material for a secure hold. An anchor screw is held with grooves and slotting to grip and hold back the weight of the anchor base. Drywall anchors use the spiral or hook method at the end of the anchor to prevent it from coming out of the wall as a winch anchor. Shop at Grainger to find toggle bolts for concrete and cement in masonry applications.

Anchor Technical Information

Anchors improve the hold of threaded fasteners in drywall, plaster, wood paneling, hollow-core doors, and masonry. They expand behind the material or against the sides of the hole as the fastener is driven. Primarily used for wall construction, fixture mounting, and on machinery.

ANCHOR TYPES

Drop-In Anchors
Internally threaded, shallow embedment anchors preassembled with an internal expansion plug for use in concrete. They must be set with a tool.
  DEFINITIONS

Minimum Embedment Length—the distance from the surface of the base material to the bottom of the anchor prior to setting the anchor.

Tension Strength—the ultimate parallel load an anchor can withstand before pulling out of the base material.
