That was not a factor for me because my outlets are the Leviton square outlets and have no way to secure anything to them. I have NOT had any problem with it pulling out of the wall outlet when I remove an electrical cord from it. The product is excellent and I really like the fact it swivels allowing me move furniture closer to it.
