Long story short it died recently, (1st season used) as it was not intended for salt spreading. I got this model yesterday, even though it is the end of the season, and used it this morning. I wish I had gotten a pair of these at the beginning of the season. Wow! It really throws salt far. It's very well made and you can feel that it's worth what you pay for one. I got mine for $454.75 including tax though b/c of the end of the seasson.
