It is ANSI and UL certified. There are articles and video's out there that claim this lock can be opened with a paperclip, or are easy to pick. They make it look easy, for a professional. But for a thief, this lock would be quite a chore.I pick locks as a hobby and this is one tough lock! There is a report out there that claims that with the help of a paperclip the slider bar becomes a major vulnerability, but it also has a spring to push that paperclip back out. Even if a thief got past that you would need access to or a picture of the key in order to take it to the next level to make a cut out and even then good luck as you have to individually rotate each pin to align with the sidebar after the top pins have been set. SPP (single pin picking) the lock is equally difficult due to the bottom pins being jagged and the top pins being security pins.As for the video's, those people have plenty of time to manufacture specialized tools and learn their specific lock. In most cases the person(s) are professionals or lock enthusiasts, not thieves. You can't really bump this lock, it's made to resist drilling, and as described it is a real hassle to pick. The biggest vulnerability to me would be how many lbs of pressure it would take to snap the shackle on the housing (sold separately)That said I'd trust this lock on my front door, my shed, cabinets, tool box, garage door, you name it. Additionally the White House, and Pentagon also trust this lock.In summary you get what you pay for and this is a pretty good lock. I would also suggest the ABUS 25/70 which is a dimple keyed puck style lock which require specialized tools and knowledge to pick.</span> March 22, 2013<meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2013-03-22" /></div> </div><!--end-reviews--> <script type="text/javascript">document.getElementById('BVRRReviewsSoiSectionID_1TJY6').style.display = 'none';</script></div><!--begin-pagination--><div id="BVRRSimplePagerID" class="BVRRPager BVRRSimplePager"><div class="BVRRPagerColumn BVRRSimplePagerColumn BVRRCurrentPage"><span class="BVRRNumber BVRRFirstRowNumber">1</span>-<span class="BVRRNumber BVRRLastRowNumber">1</span> <span class="BVRRSeparatorText">of</span> <span class="BVRRNumber BVRRTotalNumber">1</span></div><div class="BVRRPagerColumn BVRRSimplePagerColumn BVRRPreviousPage"></div><div class="BVRRPagerColumn BVRRSimplePagerColumn BVRRNextPage"> </div></div><!--end-pagination--> </div></div>
