Instructions to attach the wheels and third leg were simple and clear. Hooked up the battery and added oil and gas. Instructions to start the generator are on the unit itself. It does not get easier than that. I put approx 2.5 gal of gas in but it did not start. Brought it up to 5 gal and it started immediately. Runs real smooth and a lot less noise than I expected. Have not used it for a blackout yet. From box to running in under 1/2 hour. Easy assembly and is a very solid unit. I am still waiting to get the transfer switch installed but am confident it will power our whole house. This replaces a old Generac 4KW I've had for 29 years from Hurricane Gloria, and after running for 10 days after Super Storm Sandy I figured it was time to retire it. Researched lots of other brands but wanted US made and the XG series fits the bill. I needed a bigger unit because of the well water pump. The 4KW unit would run it but only when oil fired boiler was turned off. The XG8000 is much quieter than the old unit. It starts with ease and will be accomodate all my needs in the event of an emergency. This generator will be connected to my home using a power transfer switch during a power outage. This unit will also provide power to tools that I use outdoors and away from the home. The only thing that I would change is the amount of clearance space between the unit and the gas tank.
