The unit is supposed to reach and measure object at 330 feet. However, the weak red laser dot cannot be seen by naked eyes beyond 50 feet outdoors with daylight, thus rendering it useless more measuring farther than that. Of course, if you work in the dark (who does?) it will rerach farther, maybe even 330 feet. The visible memory measurements, pythagoras, area, and volume measurements are the features I use mostly.This products has saved me many hours. A recent measurement job took 15 minutes with the 424D.
