PURELAB� Water Purification Systems
Systems incorporate multiple technologies into a single unit to supply laboratory-grade Type II to Type I+ purified water. Type II purification is for general laboratory applications including media preparation; Type II+ provides higher organic purity. Type I water is ultrapure for water-critical applications such as HPLC (high-performance liquid chromatography) mobile phase preparation. Also used as blanks and sample dilution for key analytical techniques, in molecular biology applications, and for mammalian cell culture. Type I+ water is used in molecular biology techniques, ultra trace analysis, and ICPMS (inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry). Purification technologies include the following. Reverse osmosis (RO) forces water through a semipermeable membrane to remove most organics, 90% of ionic contaminants, and nearly all particles. Ionic technology (ion exchange) uses a resin to cleanse dissolved inorganic contaminants. UV (ultraviolet) light technology destroys microorganisms. Ultrafiltration (UF) uses hydrostatic pressure to force water against a semipermeable membrane to reduce the concentration of microorganisms and large organic molecules to acceptable levels. Where applicable, systems include factory-installed reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, UV lamps, and ultramicrofilters (UMF). Option-R and Option-S
Employ RO feed-optimized resin mixes to provide on-demand purified water for general laboratory applications. Dispensing tap is designed for easy access. Suitable for benchtop use or wall-mounting. Must be used with Elga storage tank or docking vessel, sold separately on Grainger.com�; search for "elga storage tank" or "elga docking vessel." Option-R, Nos. 16D295 and 16D296, recirculate purified water through a UV chamber to maintain peak purity and low bacterial counts. Option-S, Nos. 16D297 and 16D298, can serve as feeders for Type I ultrapure water systems.
