It makes quick work of drilling holes in concrete for sill anchors or tapcons. Very easy to change bits. The depth stick works well. I've used this for chiselling up small to medium areas of tile (wouldn't want to overwork it on more than 100 sq. ft.). Vibration is minimal. As with most Bosch tools, it comes with a long cord.I was installing a large floating laminate floor that required a half dozen or so transition/expansion strips which meant drilling 90 small holes in old concrete for the strip anchors. A 1/2" hammer drill took 2 min per hole, the Bulldog took 3 seconds per hole. Do the math for the time savings. Well worth the investment. October 7, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 It's a Bulldog I bought this Rotary Hammer along with the HS1420 Chisel and a Bosch SDS+ drill bit set ( 3/16" to 1/2") after doing research on similar tools. I mainly bought it for chipping concrete. I was impressed with its power, light weight and how easy it is to chuck and remove bits. The long cord is a plus. Bits for this hammer are available locally for me. That was a selling point. The tool container is large enough to hold the chisel and the drill bit set. This hammer will not wear you out. It felt comfortable as I used it. I was able to easily chip concrete in a confined space and to drill into it as needed. I always wear eye and ear protection and gloves, but found this hammer is not overly loud. September 5, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Impala Goes through concrete with ease! I have been using this tool for months now and have had no problems at all. I drill holes through 4 inch slabs of concrete to run pipes and this tool does the job. I was a little skeptical at first because it seemed a bit too small for the job but it proved me wrong. The tool has a lot of power. Good also for chipping concrete with a chisel bit. Great tool, great value. July 7, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 World of difference I have no basis of comparison with other SDS tools only with standard hammer drills. There is a world of difference. I started to mount a fixture in 60 year old concrete with a standard hammer drill. It took 30 minutes and multiple bits to get a 1 inch deep 3/8 hole. I bought the Bosch and completed the other two holes I needed in about 30 seconds each!I have had the drill 4 years and have used it sporadically for light to heavy tasks. Heaviest was drilling 3 half inch by 8 inch holes in concrete for speed bump installation. Took about 3 minutes for each hole.PROS1> MUCH more effective than non SDS hammer drills.2> Versatile with drilling, hammer drilling, and straight reciprocating action (used it with sharpened chisel to chip out an incredibly tough stump) On remote jobs I leave the regular drill at home and use a SDS/jacobs chuck adapter so I'm covered for all tasks.3>Surprisingly easy on the vibration while hammer drilling.4>Nice carrying case with good internal storageCONS1>Much heavier than a regular hammer drill but you won't be holding it nearly as long either.2> Some kind of internal cover on the storage compartment in the carry case would have been nice as smaller stuff moves around to the other compartment a lot3> Some oil leakage from gear case when used heavily and tool seems to get pretty hot. I may have been overcapacity on the drilling tasks when this happened but I think we all expect to go a little over capacity occasionally without ill effects for quality tools. The tool still works fine but I don't like seeing that oil. This is why I gave it 4 stars for value. July 7, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 by Diablo Kid I love my drill! I wanted a hammer drill to hang some shelves in my basement. I looked at cheaper models and then started trying to make the case for things that I could do at work with a good rotary hammer (in order to justify in my mind why I should buy a better one). I decided on this model and have not been disappointed! Over the last three or four years, I must have set over 1,000 anchors between 3/8" to 3/4". The Bosch doesn't miss a lick or break a sweat.I recently was doing some work out of town and had to set a few anchors. I had to fly to this location and did not have my drill. I had to use the one they had on site, which happened to be the cheaper model (non-Bosch) that I had considered years before. I was so glad that I didn't buy that drill! It took me over an hour and a half and two drill bits to drill what might have taken 15 minutes with the Bosch Bulldog Extreme. I love my drill! I am getting ready to buy a new Bosch cordless drill and maybe even the job site radio! July 6, 2012

Rated 5 out of 5 Awesome!!! I totally love this tool I've had it for 2-3 years and never had a problem with it.
