It covers the operator with clippings. I have used weatherstripping and duct tape and still have the problem. I did a lot of research on the Internet and decided on the Zoom 50. Love it!!! There are only three cautions with this mower. You have to be careful when making sharp turns as it can easily tear up the grass. The same is true in sloped areas, which I have. I do some of the sloped areas with my old push mower. Also, you shouldn't pause or stop on the lawn with the mower running. It will burn the grass if you do.My next door neighbor is one of those guys who knows everything about engines (he is a retired auto worker). It has proven to be a very reliable and efficient rider for me. Easy to drive, an maintain. I have about 3/4 acre to cut and can do it in just about an hour with great results. It is apparant after these four years that this mower will hold up for a long time with minimal maintenance and adequate care.
