My neighbor, running a fairly new Craftsman machine, with the same 342cc Briggs &amp; Stratton, was having trouble moving piled snow. The Ariens easily cut through it .My last blower could not throw snow very far .With the Ariens I have to be careful to not blow snow into my neighbors driveway, about 30-35' away.The biggest complaint I have is the machine's shute and shute deflector do not work #seizes up# when the temp is really low. I found that I needed to keep my shed heated. I never experienced this in the 10-yrs I had my last machine. This is my third snow machine so I was going to buy a honda, found this Ariens and researched it on the web and with a few friends. I couldn't pass it up with the all steel construction and price. I used it all this winter in very heavy snow, wet and deep and it has impressed me more than I hoped it would. The lever action to lock and unlock the drive wheels is an awesome idea that works great. You have to keep them locked on the gravel or it will pull hard to the side. I thought the hand Warmers were a gimmick but they work great.
