Mostly those that attach to a string trimmer. But I have also had one of the lighter weight walk behinds. Well, those aren't bad, but they die in about a year or two. And hit something with them? Time to buy a new one. The Ariens edger is an edger period. No attachments. It is heavy duty and designed to do one job...edge. And it does that job exeedingly well. It starts easily, and runs like a watch. When you are edging all you do is walk behind it and the machine does the work, not you! Edging is effortless. The results are fantastic. And it "sips" gas.Is this edger more expensive than the light weights? Sure. But like anything else, you get what you pay for. And what you get here is a quality "Wisconsin built" product that does the job!</span> June 25, 2012<meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2012-06-25" /></div><div id='7100470' itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Review"><meta itemprop="itemReviewed" content="Lawn Edger, 136cc, 9 In. Lots of power, user friendly, great features and I really like being able to stop the blade yet keep the engine idling if needed. It zips through the dried soil like it was sand and have used it to edge a couple of landscaping beds and it worked great. I usually edge our beds with a flat shovel but I believe this edger make the job easier and quicker with only a little clean up work left for the shovel. Ariens,,, you designed and built a great edger and the price was very reasonable with great features such as power, blade stop lever, fuel shut-off and throttle.</span> June 14, 2012<meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2012-06-14" /></div><div id='6952727' itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Review"><meta itemprop="itemReviewed" content="Lawn Edger, 136cc, 9 In. On very rare occasions engine gives off a big cloud of white smoke for a second but keeps going. But it starts easy, if I can remember to turn the switch on. Only complaint is that the blade guard assem. gets hung up on the grass beside the sidewalks making it difficult to push and cut. I would also like to see a variable blade angle adjustment. The groves don't give me the angle that I sometimes need. Other than that this edger will probably last as long as I continue to do my yard myself, I'm 69, and live in Houston, TX. The edger is no different; not the cheapest but not the most expensive, yet outperforms the most expensive thanks to superior engineering(not building to suit the accountants!). The Subaru engine appears to be a generator engine, so running long periods is the perfect job. It's always started first pull, and, due to having a choke- NOT a primer bulb- I expect it always will.Nothing negative to say about these machines, they're a great reason to recommend paying a little more for a lot of quality!</span> June 12, 2012<meta itemprop="datePublished" content="2012-06-12" /></div><div id='6602087' itemprop="review" itemscope itemtype="http://schema.org/Review"><meta itemprop="itemReviewed" content="Lawn Edger, 136cc, 9 In.
