contacted the product supplier we and have been advised by them of the following: this particular ear muff has a noise reduction rating (NRR) of 30 decibels. This means it will reduce what you are hearing by 30 decibels. There are several ear plugs which will block out up to 33 decibels which is the highest level of protection. Examples would be 5FV14 or 1VJY1.<br />One alternative would be to wear an ear muff and an ear plug at the same time.
